Operation of Bus Service and LOC Trade:
There are 2 Land Customs Stations namely
i. LCS Chakan da Bagh(District Poonch)
ii. LCS Kaman Post, Adoosa(District Baramulla)
Passengers of J&K/POK can travel through bus to and fro, through the said LCS’s on permits instead of passports and visas. On the Srinagar Muzaffarabad road bus service is in operation since 07-04-2005 and on the Chakan da Bagh Rawalakote road bus service is in operation since 20-06-2006. On both the roads presently bus is running on every Monday.Cross LOC Trade was started as a goodwill gesture and confidence building measure between India and Pakistan. This trade was started through two Trade Facilitation Centres located at Salamabad Uri in Baramula District and Chakan da Bagh in Poonch District. To implement and facilitate other movement of goods , Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India issued a Standing Operating Procedure(SOP) vide F.No. 13015/172007-K.11 dated 20-10-2008 prescribing there under complete procedure for carrying out the said trade. Clearance of incoming goods in Cross LOC Trade is allowed dutyfree. It is a Barter system of trade. Initially the trade was carried out on 2 days in a week but presently w.e.f. 15-11-2011, trade is being carried out for 4 days in a week beginning on Tuesday of every week.
